It's Dry Here, But Not THAT Kind of Dry

The 25th Sundance Film Festival is going on right now, which doesn't make much difference in my life except that I had an INCREDIBLY long wait yesterday when I met someone for tea at the very cool Beehive Tea Room. But it means a lot to Utah, apparently: it brings in a lot of tourism money, and things like that are one reason Utah claimed for a long time to be "recession-proof."

And I'm guessing that this article in the NY Times on Utah's awarding-winning brew pubs is an attempt to help Sundance-attendees and other visitors figure out where to spend their tourist dollars.

The article is telling the truth: there's good beer to be had here--and it has great names like Polygamy Porter and Provo Girl Pilsner. This is one more reason I like Salt Lake City, and one more reason you should come visit me.

I know it's totally dorky, but I always wanted to go to Sundance when I lived in Utah. Somehow I never made it, though.

I'd much rather go visit you than pretend to care about Sundance, you're way more awesome.

Beehive Tea Room? Sign me up.

Hi Rebecca--

I don't know if I want to go to Sundance. I never thought about it before. If I think about it now, I feel like I should want to go, because it's Culturally Relevant, but truth be told, I'd rather sit in front of my computer and listen to music and blog.

Hi Dale--

Thanks for thinking I'm more awesome than Sundance--truth be told, I agree with you. I was actually suggesting that all the brew pubs in SLC and its environs should be a reason to visit me, but if I'm attraction enough to lure you here, well, I won't complain.

Hi Juti--

The Beehive Tea Room is AWESOME. They even do a high tea, which I am really anxious to try. Next time you're in the area, we'll have to schedule that.
