I'm a poet / essayist / memoirist/
journalist (in the sense of keeping a journal, not of working for a newspaper) and it occurred to me that a blog fits in with all that. If Montaigne, father of the essay, were alive today, he'd keep a blog. This is my self-portrait as frustrated artist who can't believe she's not famous yet. (And because it's part of my artistic endeavor, the whole damn thing is copyrighted. All rights reserved.)

It's All Right There on His Facebook Page

Unlike the debates, this won't completely nauseate you. McCain went first, but Obama was way funnier.

That was GREAT. From now on it should be a pre-requisite to conduct all presidential campaigning in stand-up format.

I completely agree, Rebecca. I feel I really learned something important about the candidates by seeing what aspects of themselves and their campaigns they were willing to make fun of. Plus it was just damn entertaining--I've watched Obama's speech three or four times, just because it's fun.

If campaigns really want to appeal to women, they should turn on the humor sooner: I don't know a single woman who doesn't have a weakness for a guy with a great sense of humor.
